In a recent interview with Bernstein analyst Tony Sacconaghi, Apple COO Tim cook said that Apple is seriously looking at making a cheaper iPhone for prepaid customers. I'd say this is fantastic news considering the iPhone is often considered to be an too expensive by many would-be buyers.
In the isame interview, Cook said, "price is a big factor in the prepaid market, and we're not going to be ceding any market." He also said China is a prime target for such a product and that Apple is work on some very "clever things" to enable anyone to get an iPhone. He went out of his way to say the iPhone isn't "just for the rich."
Cook also noted that Apple will continue to focus on the tablet market, where it has seen major successes.
So, would you consider buying $200 dollar, unsubsidized iPhone?
