T-Mobile today announced the G2, a fresh and powerful entry into the void forming where the G1 once thrived.
We told you about the teaser page for the G2 not long ago, but had only a few details available to us at the time.
Official specs on the G2 include:
- 3.7-inch display
- 800 MHz Snapdragon MSM7230 processor
- 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash
- HD (720p) video recording
- Sliding full-QWERTY keyboard with dedicated buttons for Google shortcuts and applications
- Android 2.2 (Froyo)
It's a bit strange that it has taken this long -- about 3 years -- for the G1 to get an official replacement. But now that it has, it looks like it will make its predecessor, the first-ever Android-powered device, quite proud.
T-Mobile states that a pre-sale will be available for the G2 later this month, so we'll keep on that and be sure to let you know the moment you can call dibs on yours.
