The iPhone 3GS may soon be available from T-Mobile

According to a Twitter post from Wired Editor-in-chief Chris Anderson, T-Mobile will begin selling Apple's iPhone 3GS this year.
Last night, singer tweeted: "A T-Mobile manager casually mentioned to me that they're going to get the iPhone 3GS (but not 4, oddly) later this year. Common knowledge?"
This supposed slip up from an unnamed manager at T-Mobile leads us to two interesting conclusions:
First, AT&T's iPhone exclusivity may indeed be coming to an end, as has been rumored. While it is odd that T-Mobile would only be carrying an older iPhone model, the 3GS will certainly be an affordable option for T-Mobile customers at $99 or less.
This also further supports rumors that Verizon Wireless will soon offer its own iPhone model. If T-Mobile begins selling an iPhone, this indeed means that AT&T's exclusivity is done — or at least it only applies to the iPhone 4, leaving the iPhone 3GS or any new iPhone model open to other U.S. carriers.
