In an interview with Reuters, Samsung's head of marketing YH Lee indicated that Microsoft's upcoming mobile OS will be something of an afterthought.
For the foreseeable future, Samsung will instead focus its smartphone efforts on Google's Android OS as well as its own operating system, Bada.
"We are Prioritizing our Android platform. Android is very open and flexible, and there is a consumer demand for it," Lee told Reuters at the annual IFA conference on Thursday.
Samsung will launch at least one Windows Phone 7 device this year, though it sees demand for Microsoft's new mobile operating system as "professional" and "specialized".
Lee also indicated that Samsung has no plans to release new Symbian-powered devices moving forward.
