A Dell Thunder prototype gets handled and partially spec'd

The Android-powered Thunder from yet-to-really-prove-iteself-in-mobile manufacturer Dell shows a lot of promise for a surprisingly strong and impressive offering in an Engadget-exclusive preview.
The two prototypes handled presented a wealth of information and curiosity at the same time. Cellular bands and test suites present on the phones suggested about every kind of GSM network compatibility possible, CDMA potential and even possible AWS support. This essentially leaves things wide open in the U.S. as to where this future device may find itself, carrier-wise.
A 1GHz Snapdragon processor is in full effect, and an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash could also be confirmed.
As far as firmware goes, one of the devices was apparently running Android 1.6 (Donut), while the other was rocking vanilla Android 2.1 (Eclair). Depending on release timeframes, we could even see the Thunder launch with Froyo (or better), but the important part is, PC expert Dell isn't kickin' it Donut style, completely oblivious to the latest and greatest.
