Verizon has officially announced the Motorola DROID 2, available tomorrow

We've seen a multitude a Motorola DROID 2 spyshots, leaked specs and even confirmed pricing and launch dates, courtesy of Best Buy. Yet we've always come up short on that whole official Verizon announcement part.
Until today, that is. Just one day before the online pre-sale of the original DROID's successor, Verizon has officially announced availability of the Motorola DROID 2, beginning tomorrow August 11th.
The DROID 2, with all its Froyo, Flash 10.1 and Wi-Fi hotspot goodness, will go on an online "pre-sale" at verizonwireless.com tomorrow, and then will officially launch in stores on Thursday, August 12th.
Will the DROID 2 see the same success as its predecessor? Time will tell, but there are many, many more Android options -- even just in Verizon's stable -- than there was when the DROID launched. There was also a million-dollar ad campaign accompanying the DROID, and with the sequel, Verizon has given us a day's notice.
