To say that the iPhone 4 launch has been difficult for Apple is an understatement. Online pre-ordering was a disaster, then there was Antennagate, and now this.
The elusive white iPhone 4 has been delayed again, and this time it could be several months before units finally ship.
Here is Apple's official statement:
White models of Apple's new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
Some have speculated that the manufacturing challenge Apple is facing stems from the apparent difficulty of infusing the white color into the glass. True or not, one has to wonder whether or not the problems Apple was facing before has been compounded by possible changes made to the iPhone's antenna.
