Verizon Wireless' upcoming Motorola DROID 2 has been spotted running Froyo

Spy shots of the DROID 2 have been leaking on a fairly regular basis recently, so it's looking more and more like a release is imminent. Perhaps even on August 12th, as new rumors suggest.
It also appears as though rumors that the DROID 2 will be upgraded to Android 2.2 in time for launch are coming true as well. This spy shot obtained by enthusiast blog Droid Life clearly shows Android 2.2, codenamed Froyo, running on the device.
Keep in mind that the DROID 2 is basically a smaller DROID X with a physical keyboard and some design tweaks. So, if you have been thinking about picking up a DROID X but you would prefer a physical keyboard, it makes sense to wait and see what happens.
Of course, with the way DROID phones are shipping these days, you might not have any choice but to wait.
