After a long wait and arriving with much fanfare, Xobni Mobile for BlackBerry has officially become publicly available, CrackBerry reports.

The much talked about contact management application for BlackBerry users is one that many have been anxiously awaiting for quite some time. Xobni Mobile shoves your native address book aside and does what any respectable address book should do in the first place.

Xobni's contact database is built automatically based on your usage, meaning that instead of that boring, outdated organization system known as alphabetical order, your contacts are arranged in a more useful, personalized fashion based on who you communicate with the most. Don't worry, if you haven't talked to grandma in a while and are afraid you'll be less likely to call her now that she's at the bottom of your list, there a handy search function in there as well.

Xobni Mobile also ushers in information from services like LinkedIn and Facebook, so that all of your contacts latest info is all in one place and easily accessible. It even auto-extracts email addresses and phone numbers to build profiles for correspondents not already in your phonebook. You can back up your Xobni profiles, too, in the event you find yourself without your phone or your hard drive crashes.

For those who use Microsoft Outlook, the Xobni One service lets you stay synced with the contacts on your desktop as well. Thankfully, Xobni realizes that hardly everyone uses Outlook today, and for those who don't, it offers a stand-alone BlackBerry application option as well.

Xobni Mobile for Blackberry is available for download for a one-time fee of $9.99. For those with Outlook who want to really get connected, grab Xobni Mobile with Xobni One for just $6.99 up front, with a monthly recurring fee of $3.99. Not bad for what Xobni is presenting as eternal address book bliss, right?
