Is a version of HTC's Sense UI with robust multitouch functionality on the horizon? Possibly -- if you believe random HTC Hero videos coming out of Japan.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the video is pinch-to-zoom being used to visualize all of the widgets currently running, with a simple tap being all that is necessary to switch from one widget to another. It's kind of like Exposé, only more touchy-feely.
Again, this could be nothing more than a clever hack, and it doesn't jive with other Sense UI updates in the pipeline, such as Espresso. Still, it's something to think about, especially since recent rumors talk about an Android 2.1 update coming to the Hero in March. Perhaps a multitouch Sense UI update will be a little icing on the cake.
