Two weeks ahead of the Mobile World Congress, it appears Nokia may finally bring its Cseries to light

Nokia's focus on phones that sell in large numbers keeps the company on top in the mobile world, and it looks like Nokia is staying true to this line of thought. Leaked images of the Nokia C5, which will supposedly be Nokia's first Cseries handset, have been revealed. While it may seem pedestrian compared to today's fancy high-end smartphones, the C5 has quite a bit going for it.
In crafting the C5, Nokia is expected to create a new line powered by the now-open source Symbian platform. We expect to learn the unifying factors of the line at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in the coming weeks. Maybe. Nokia will have a presence at MWC this year, but it will not have a consumer product-focused booth at the show. This is a major detail, considering Nokia's gargantuan MWC booth has been the talk of the show for many years now.
As the rumored first of the new line, the C5 carries forward the S60 OS and allows easy access to instant messaging, GPS navigation, Real Player and the Ovi Store. Other apps include the newly relaunched Ovi Maps (which generated an amazing 1.4 million downloads in the past week) including free GPS turn-by-turn navigation. The wealth of apps available for the C5 should please most mainstream customers.
The C5 looks to have a rather traditional button layout: big number pad, simple d-button for navigating around menus, and a 2.2-inch bright screen that is not touch-enabled. A microSD slot, a 3.2 megapixel camera and FM radio round out the highlights. The C5 looks to be a strong low to mid-range smartphone.
As the device is still firmly in "unannounced land", there are no available details with regards to price, launch timing or target markets. Should Nokia announce the C5 at MWC this month, expect the MSRP to be shockingly low.
