Just in case you've been living under a rock for the past six months, Apple made a tablet computer. No single gadget has received as much attention from the rumor mill over the past year and as such, we're happy to finally see all of the rumors and speculation come to an end. Very, very happy.
Now that all is said and done, the Apple iPad really is quite a device. Will it save every ailing newspaper and magazine company? Absolutely not. The iPad will, however, find its way into plenty of households once it launches, and give its users plenty of opportunities to fork over cash for a variety of content.
iPad highlights include:
- iPhone OS 3.2
- Half-inch thickness
- 1.5 lbs.
- 9.7-inch capacitive multitouch screen
- 1GHz Apple A4 processor

- Automatic pixel-doubling on all iPhone apps -- virtually all current iPhone apps will work on the iPad
- Wi-Fi 802.11n
