The Fender Limited Edition of T-Mobile's myTouch 3G comes with special content and a slick finish - still outclassed by the likes of the Nexus One and DROID

T-Mobile has officially announced the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition, a special variant of its popular Android-powered myTouch 3G smartphone.
With phones like the Nexus One already being live on T-Mobile's network, a new rendition of an older model like the myTouch 3G without any major spec changes isn't going to be for everyone.
Among the changes from the original myTouch 3G are the much-needed addition of a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Why this wouldn't be considered a no-brainer the first time around is beyond us, but nevertheless, this music-themed phone logically includes it now. The phone will also come bundled with a 16GB microSD card ]preloaded with choice music selections from guitar-playing stars such as Eric Clapton, Avril Lavigne, Brad Paisley and Wyclef Jean. The phone will launch with Android 1.6, but will be upgraded to 2.1 this Spring.
The device also features a redesigned music player from HTC that makes using the phone's most important function more intuitive, and even allows you to create ringtones from a playing song.
The myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition will cost $179.99 upon its January 20th release, with a new two-year service agreement plus taxes and fees of course.
