HTC Windows Mobile-powered HD2 will launch exclusively on T-Mobile this spring

Published on Jan 7, 2010

T-Mobile announced yesterday that it will be bringing the HTC HD2 to the U.S. exclusively.

This next offering in the 1GHz Snapdragon processor invasion is the 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen-rocking HTC HD2. When this monstrous Windows Mobile device first became available abroad, many suspected they would never see it stateside.

The HTC HD2 is the first Windows Mobile device to implement HTC's Sense UI and the first to feature a capacitive screen. Some of the other features include a 480 x 800 resolution picture, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual-LED flash, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), and it will bang out on T-Mobile's shiny new 7.2 Mbps HSPA 3G network.

It's just too bad that Microsoft couldn't have stepped on it a little bit and readied Windows Mobile 7 for a debut on such a beautiful, visually stimulating device such as this. With the hardware smacking you in the face with 480 x 800 pixel bliss, the potential disappointment of a repeat of the 6.5 let down could have been avoided.
