Some new screenshots surfaced yesterday by way of Italian site HDBlog.it that purportedly give us a first look at the rumored HTC Espresso's revamped Sense UI. We still don't know much about this device, but most speculate that it will incorporate a QWERTY keyboard and run Android 2.1 once it's finally unveiled (possibly at Mobile World Congress in February). The Espresso codename originally surfaced in a leaked Android 2.1 ROM a little while back, but was nowhere to be found in the 1H 2010 roadmap we reported on earlier this month.
Among the changes with this possible refresh of HTC's Sense UI are the addition of the "People" shortcut to the bottom bar for easy access to contacts and social networking functionality, as well as a refreshed programs screen with a new set of icons that are interesting, to say the least.
We're still in the dark as to how this device might shape up physically, and any screenshots or specifications are completely unofficial at this point, but these screen captures at least give us a good idea of what we can expect to see on the Espresso and subsequent Sense UI-equipped Android phones from HTC.
