A new report claims that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S III will be thinnner than a Droid RAZR, and one of several new phones in a Galaxy S III line.
The report comes out of South Korea's etnews by way of TechCrunch, who claim that the new Galaxy S III will clock in at only 7mm thick - slightly thinner than the current champ, the Droid RAZR at 7.3mm. It's also a full 1.9mm thinner than the current Galaxy S II.
Specs are said to include a quad-core CPU, Super AMOLED Plus display, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera and Android 4.0.
Interestingly, there is also talk that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available in several different flavors that include variations like a better camera, a stylus version and a version with a 3D display.
If this is true, you can better understand Samsung's reasoning behind skipping MWC and giving the Samsung Galaxy SIII a launch event of its own.
And it definitely needs to stand out if Samsung plans to compete with the upcoming iPhone 5, which is rumored for a release sometime this summer.
Previous rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S III would be available in April, but etnews claims that May will be the month that Samsung unleashes its new flagship.
