The new Twitter apps are designed to provide a cohesive experience and sport four tabs for Home, Connect, Discover, and Me

Twitter today unveiled new versions of its Android and iOS mobile apps that focus on providing users faster, simpler access to the tweets and news they care most about. The new mobile apps also take a more personalized approach and make Twitter a much more visually-pleasing experience.
The updates are part of a larger effort by the social-networking giant to make navigating the service a bit easier. The redesign also marks the first time Twitter has tried to bring disparate parts of its network together in a unified fashion.
Like the redesigned website, the new mobile apps feature four tabs for Home, Connect, Discover, and Me. The Home tab gives users access to their timeline, while the Connect tab displays mentions and re-tweets.
The Discover tab, meanwhile, provides access to popular news stories and trends that are happening on Twitter in real-time. The Me tab lets users see their profile, as well as access Direct Messages they have received.
Overall, the redesigned look is currently available for the iPhone and Android versions of the application. A revamped iPad version is also purportedly in the works.
The updated apps for iPhone and Android can be downloaded today. For a better understanding of the Twitter redesign and where the company is headed, take a look at the YouTube video Twitter posted below.
