A render and preliminary details of the upcoming HTC Zeta quad-core smartphone have leaked. Rumored to launch some time next year, the Zeta could be the first 2.5GHz handset to land in 2012.
The news come via technology news giant Engadget. The site reports that the Zeta apparently has a 2.5GHz APQ8064 CPU on board along with 1GB of RAM and is rumored to sport a massive 4.5-inch 720p HD display. It’ll also supposedly come with Android 4.0 ICS and possibly HTC Sense 4.0 over the top of it.
More specs include 32GB of internal storage space, an 1,830mAh battery, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video capture and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing cam. The Zeta is also said to measure at 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8mm (4.32 x 2.4 x 0.39 inches) and weigh 5.15 ounces (146g).
As I am sure you can tell by the looks, the Zeta appears to be a major departure for HTC in terms of design. Totally different from anything we've seen from them, which is a good thing. HTC phones were getting sort of boring.
While everything about the Zeta sounds great, the device is still in rumor country and it will remain there until HTC announces it. Remember, this photo could turn out to be nothing more than a render, but I really hope this isn't the case.
That being said, with little else to go on, we’d say consider this phone wishful thinking for now, though chances are we will see the Zeta sooner rather than later.
